Mocorunning Summer XC Series Race #1
It was an All-American XC race when American University runner Kyle Gaffney led most of the race before former American University runner Chad Young picked up the win. The weather was nice and the course was not as easy as advertised (my bad). Thanks to those who came out. Be on the look out for race #2 coming in July.

MoCo Athletes Break Two State Records On Day Two
Just three months after running his first 3200-meter race, Solomon Haile of Sherwood has toppled the 3200 state record of 9:07 which has stood since 1973. He ran 9:06.13 and made it look effortless. | | Photo by John Roemer The QO boys dug deep and battled Eleanor Roosevelt every step of the way and in the end they shattered the previous state record of 7:47.8 by over three seconds (7:44.67). |
 | The only record standing longer than the boys 3200 is the boys shot put. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Tom Brosius of Springbrook throwing 64-06.50 to win the 1968 state title. That record still remains, but Stanley, only a junior, hit a huge milestone at 60-00.25.
